Thank you to all who attended Scoops Night! It was so much fun to see so many third graders!
We will soon begin an activity to show mastery of multiplication facts. If your child does not have these memorized yet, please make sure they are working on these on a regular basis. Flashcards and a partner work the best! Thank you for your support!

What are we Learning this week...
Reading:
The student can identify text structures and central idea, explain how details support the idea, explain how an author uses evidence to support a claim, and how text features contribute to the meaning of informational text.
The student can summarize a text to enhance comprehension across genres.
The student can identify and determine the meaning of unknown words and use academic vocabulary in speaking and writing.
Writing:
The student can use the writing process to write a text-based persuasive essay.
Math:
The student will order and compare fractions, and identify equivalent fractions.
Science:
The student will identify some basic forms of energy and recognize that energy has the ability to cause motion or create change.
The student will be able to investigate that heat is produced when one object rubs up against another and that things that give off light often give off heat.
Social Studies:
The student will be able to recognize the values of the recipients of the Congressional Medal of Honor.
Students will be able to explain how the environment influences settlement patterns in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean and compare cultural characteristics of each.
Students will be able to investigate how people perceive places and regions differently.
Leader in Me:
The student will be able to use the time matrix tool to put first things first.
